Bridie is a professionally registered Creative Arts Therapist based in Queanbeyan NSW. Her small private practice services clients in Canberra, ACT and the surrounding NSW region. Bridie specialises in working with clients experiencing complex mental and physical health issues, depression and anxiety, and trauma. Bridie's warm and friendly nature, and her professionalism will make even the most hesitant client comfortable with being creative. She also has a passion for the performing arts, is curious about human nature and believes that everyone has a right to a full and rewarding life.
Her therapeutic practice can be scaffolded to meet the individual needs of each client. She is guided by a person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed therapeutic framework. Equally, she has capacity to support those clients who just want to play and experiment with art materials in a safe and supported way.
Bridie's background as a visual arts curator means clients with an interest in pursuing a creative practice beyond the therapeutic space can do so with her industry experience and knowledge in developing grant applications, framing and exhibiting art works. Outreach opportunities might include accompanied gallery and museum visits, coupled with supported reflection and individually tailored creative responses to other artists' work.
